Welcome to the Nadaburg Unified School District Nutrition Services Department!

Nadaburg Unified School District participates in the School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs. We pride ourselves with offering students a healthy breakfast and lunch each day while at school. Since healthy habits start in childhood, we offer students a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables daily via our fruit and veggie bar. We want to do our part in developing lifelong healthy choices.

The Nutrition Services Department is self-supporting. It is our responsibility to generate revenue to pay for food, supplies, labor, and equipment needed for the food program. That being said we are committed to offering nutritious meals at an affordable price. Our nutrition program is organized and administered for the benefit of our students.

Nutritious school meals include:

v A variety of fruits and vegetables

v Grains that are 50% whole grain

v Fat-free or 1% milk

v Foods free from trans fats and low in sodium, total fat, and saturated fat

School lunches offer five meal components daily (fruit, vegetable, grain, protein and milk). Although students are encouraged to take all five, they need to choose at least three of the five components, one of which must be a fruit or vegetable.

For your convenience menus will be posted monthly on the school websites. Menus are subject to change due to the availability of some food items.

Free language assistance, auxiliary aids, and/or accommodations are available upon request.

Breakfast at School

Mornings can be crazy and we know that. Maybe the alarm didn’t go off, or kids don’t want to get ready for the day, maybe you have no time for breakfast before the bus comes or maybe your students just aren’t ready to eat breakfast at home. That is where we can help. We serve breakfast at school every day.

A school breakfast can give your student a healthy start to the day. Children who eat breakfast have increased alertness and improved moods throughout the day. Incorporating a better learning experience in the classroom.  Breakfast has vitamins and nutrients for a strong healthy body.

Breakfast at school is affordable too. If you qualify for free and reduced meals breakfast is also include with no additional paperwork needed.

Free and Reduced Application

If you believe you qualify for the free or reduced meal program, please feel free to download a copy of the guidelines and the application, fill it out, and turn it into your school's cafeteria.

We encourage all to apply.

Students who were eligible last school year will have the same benefits for the first 30 days of the new school year. If you wish to continue receiving those benefits for the new school year you must reapply every year.
